Establishing a morning routine can be extremely helpful both for your mind and body. It may feel hard to keep up with your morning routine at first since you need around 21 days to form a new habit, but you will start noticing a huge difference in your mood and energy after you get used to it.
9:00 am | Wakey, wakey!
On the days I have no morning classes, my day usually starts around 9 am. I’ve always been a morning person so I prefer having some extra time to spend in the morning working on all the daily important tasks. Having almost all my to-do list checked until lunchtime definitely has a huge impact on my mood, increasing my productivity and motivation through the rest of the day as well.
TIP: If you find it hard to force yourself to get out of bed early in the morning, think of something you are looking for that day. It can be as simple as enjoying a cup of coffee with your partner.
9:00 am to 9:20 am | Affordable Skin Care Routine
Honestly, I don’t feel like I have to do much in the morning when it comes to skin care since I am only 23 years old. I am just washing my face with a cleanser to freshen up my skin, then I am moisturizing and that’s all. Less is more to me, there is no need to use a ton of products when you are still young, the trick is to keep up with your daily routine and to find what suits your skin.
At the moment all the products I use are from NIVEA (not sponsored just love them):
▸ First, I cleanse my face with the Shine Control Facial Wash Gel. My skin feels so clean and soft after and it has a really light smell.
▸ Then I apply my Urban Skin Defence Day Cream SPF 20 to bring back some moisture to my face. Highly recommended, especially for summer. It feels super lightweight to the skin, leaves no greasiness, has a light fresh smell and who doesn’t love some extra SPF protection.
▸ Lastly, we all have those days that our skin has a mind of its own and decides to bless us with lots of new buddies. On days like these, I love to use my 1 minute Urban Detox Mask. I’ve noticed it dries out my pimples and prevents them from growing and cleanses my pores deeply.
9:20 am to 10:00 am | But first coffee!
There is no better way to start your day rather than listening to your favorite song, dancing all over the room and enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning. It’s a mood, you feel me?
TIP: Try not to skip breakfast in the morning, especially if you have a long day ahead. More like a friendly reminder to myself than a tip.
10:00 am to 10:20 am | Mindset is everything.
As an aspiring girlboss, I am trying to be one step ahead of my day by planning my schedule in advance the night before. So, before I actually start my day, I go through my to-do list, set daily goals and prioritize my tasks.
TIP: Incorporate gratitude and positivity into your life. Write down one thing you are grateful for that day and one positive thought you had in the morning. You can even write an inspirational quote to pump yourself up in case you lose your motivation during the day.
10:20 am to 01:00 pm | Time to get things done.
Once my morning ritual is over, it’s about time to start crossing things off my daily to-do list. I always work on the most important task first since I am more productive and concentrated in the morning. For example, now that my finals are just around the corner, it means lots of studying right at the start of my day.
TIP: Don’t forget to take proper breaks in between or even switch to a different task after an hour if you have multiple crucial tasks to accomplish that day.
